Trousers always just makes me think of "trouser snake."

What is trousing? What is someone looking for when they trouse?

"Where are you going, honey?"

"Oh, thought I'd do a little shopping, some banking, maybe some trousing."

"Well, you better wear your trousers, just in case."

And, like pant, should it be trouser or trousers?
