This specimen was found at the Native American Museum on my lunch hour. It's the boat on the upper left in this picture. |

I've heard the term baidarka used for that construction style. I don't see the classic split bow treatment I've seen on the other baidarkas. Here are a couple pics from the last one I saw in person.
They're *very* lightweight, and they flex. These are good qualities, but I think it would be scary to paddle. I feel like I'd put my foot right through it.
