One time I was out hiking with some friends, and we heard an aircraft overhead, but couldn't see it due to clouds.
"Sounds military" one guy said. "Huh?" I asked. "Fast. Loud. Low." Fair enough. A chopper cirlcing low over the same place could sound purposeful.
