This one has stagnated; so, here are two answers either one of which works:

In the red.
Home sweet home.
Another time, another place.
Fictitious with a parallel from across the pond.

Gallifrey
Covered in red grass.
The last child of Gallifrey (the Doctor).
Gone from the present, time locked during time war.
British Sci-Fi about a superior race on an alien planet, lost to disaster, giving Earth a space and time travelling hero with other extraordinary capabilities.

Krypton
In the light of a red sun.
The last son of Krypton (Superman).
Gone from the present, exploded.
American story about a superior race on an alien planet, lost to disaster, giving Earth a space and time travelling hero with other extraordinary capabilities.

Sorry for not pursuing... I had nowhere near enough knowledge to penetrate those spheres.

(I did spend some time trying to put together the "red" as mortage forclosure, etc., but that got to be too silly even for me.)
