And no avatars. They don't help. Just as soon as you get used to one, they get changed, and then there are all of those damned epileptic fit causing flashing ones, and ... it's just not good. We're not that kind of a forum. Encourages the wrong sort of nonthinking people that barely write in chatspeak.

Banning gifs would eliminate the flashing ones. If you really wanted to be strict, you could only allow head and shoulder shots.

I know they would change from time to time, but I still think it would help me keep people straight.

I agree with this. I don't see how avatars encourages the wrong sort of non-thinking people. Avatars show individuality and it also dresses the board up a little so it doesn't look so boring. I've seen many forums over my years on the internet and this is one of the very few that doesn't allow them.

Of course this is just my opinion and I'm sure you're all thinking I should just shut the fuck up since I'm the newbie.
