All is not lost.
Open up you computer case. Find the hard drive. Pry it open with a toothpick. Somewhere in there are the 1s and 0s that you are looking for. You'll need a torch. Scan the drive visually until you find what you're after. Then copy down the pattern of 0s and 1s with a pencil and paper. Put the computer back together and retype the data manually. For a picture, you can rebuild it pixel by pixel in paint. Easy.
