Upgrading windows
Will upgrading Windows from XP pro to Windows 7 be a problem? I've heard that there were so many problems with previous upgrades that it wasn't worth it, it was better to just get a new computer. Is this still true?

Other than the fact that you can't?
You can't do a straight upgrade, nor should you.
Windows XP to Vista to 7 is possible if you're persistent. However, if you do a straight XP to 7 upgrade, you will not be able to preserve your settings. You can upgrade your PC to run Windows 7. However, I recommend that you have at least 2GB RAM and a Core 2 Duo processor so you don't have a bad experience. |

I don't like Windows 7.
It could be that I'm not used to it but I started using Windows 3.1 so I'm used to changes. Is there any reason you want 7, Spexx? |

The order entry software that I use has an upgrade available, which requires Vista or 7. I really don't want to. Imma try to delay as long as possible.

From my debuts with MS-DOS 3.2 to my last computer running Windows 7 and even a brief incursion into Apple territory, I never upgraded an OS save to apply patches and service packs.
If my current computer cannot support the newer version: new PC. Otherwise, I backup everything, format the disk and make a fresh installation. Even better: buy and install a new disk for the installation and use the old one as an external.
