True, the redcoats were garrison troops. But there were British troops that were blooded during the French and Indian War. Of course a lot of them were colonists.

Robert's Rules of Ranging was written for the British by Robert Rogers as an officer in the British army. If he hadn't completely f***d up his life, he would have served one side or other well during the Revolutionary War.
