so, it's the helplessly compulsivness of the behavior that is the reason that the behavior should be given a pass, not the behavior itself?
If I am a "compulsive truth-teller" (and I'm not saying I am), should that behavior likewise be disregarded like in your example? When do we give more weight to the behavior than the cause, and when is the cause more important? /shit stirring
