There is something wrong in our society with respect to dentistry.
A few weeks ago, my wife had a total knee replacement surgery + 2 days, 2 nights in hospital. $15 pre-surgery appt + $200 hospital charge + $28 post hospital Rx's Total: $243 for major surgery and all pre-surgery lab tests, blood typing, X-rays, meals, etc., etc., etc. ------- A few days later, I had a old crown come loose. $25.00 for "emergency" appointment + $15 co pay + $75 procedure charges Total: $115 - FOR ONE TOOTH, with insurance ($3000 maximum) The dentist told me this was a "temporary" fix, and I might need to get a bridge. Prices ran from $475 up to $4,500 - Insurance does NOT cover bridge work, etc. I don't think I ever met a dentist I didn't despise. |
