Those are cool pictures.
I was on the Big Island years ago on our honeymoon, and we went to the end of the road where the lava had blocked it. A few hundred yards away, hot lava was going into the water and creating a steam cloud that rained down on us. I thought it was cool until I saw it was coating my camera lens with water droplets, each of which contained razor sharp abrasive bits of tiny lava particles. I had to take that lens to a camera shop to be professional cleaned because I couldn't get the the particles off without wiping and scratching the lens. I'm glad I took such good care of that lens, because I shot no more than ten more rolls with it before it got abandoned in my closet as a victim of the digital revolution. |
