A light spray (or repeated light sprays, if necessary) is going to be better than soaking, they probably won't recover from that. I don't know what the equivalent product would be over there, but here we have things like Lysol. Or the wholesale stuff the bowling alleys use, I bet that's pretty effective.

Dryer sheets are supposed to kill the smell, but probably won't stop the dissolving.

Got up this morning and the house ponged of Indian Curry, made a Chicken Bhuna for dinner last night, now I love Indian food just reeks the house out the next day.
Have had the windows open all day but I'm sure It's still lingering
