That's what much of it was about, because it wasn't easy here, either. Then it became easier for the people who were into computers, but it came slowly for the public who's only access was dial up, plus the search engines were a nightmare. I found out about Google in a weekly newspaper column that was giving tips about PCs and the internet. It rocked my world.

Not much attraction until the Google came along and made it easier to find stuff worth getting online for. Dumped NetZero and got hooked up, then fell into the Cellar and discovered people were actually talking to each other online, another revelation. When I told people I knew in real life about it, I got responses like, So?, Why?, and to swap recipes?

Where my brother lives they couldn't even get DSL until a couple years ago, suddenly cable and DSL appeared at the same time.
