I know, it was a joke. That bid scares me a lot, La Liga isn't the same as the EPL, and he can't stay healthy there. But after watching him outplay Ronaldo in their CL matchup, it's sure an interesting gamble. I mean geez, he's only 20.

Should we continue to annoy everyone by completely derailing this thread, talking about a sport only 3 people on this board care about?

What if we opened this up to "if you could've gone to any sporting event from history, what would it be?"

I was two years away from even being born, and hockey's probably my 4th or 5th favorite sport, but I'd choose Eruzione toppling the Russkies in the 1980 Olympics.

3? You. Me. Dana does a good job trying to care. Richie is a pool fan (whereever he went). WHIP likes money and boring football. (Chelsea supporter apparently). That's 5. See - it's the world's game.

A pool fan? C'mon, it's much more fun to call them Liverpudlians or scousers.

i don't remember if he really was a scouser or just supported the team though. whatever. I often don't use the proper name for supporters. I mean when is the last time I referred to you as Chelscum? Lottery Chav?

Hello?
Football fan here too thank you.
Although you probably are best keeping it to the designated thread if that's all you're talking about.

Because the Cellar has never been about thread drift (snigger)

Ha, fair enough. If my team had the word "arse" in their name, I wouldn't want to go down that road either Really I just like the term Liverpudlian though. To Americans it sounds like an insult.

No league cup discussions, please. Fuckin' Spurs... I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

What about the . . . Ultimate Fighting Championship I think it's called? In Las Vegas? Not something I can get into, but Daughter No. 1 and SIL are all into that.

Free money, yes ...I like that very much.
My favorite soccer teams, are Lazio and Lyonnais.
In petty England, yes, I support Chelsea..... always have.

But a soccer fan? Not particularly.

These are my favorite sports by rank:
1)Tennis (Watching and playing)
2)American Football
3)Hockey
4)Baseball
5)Basketball (Coaching)

Soccer would rank next to volleyball and snooker.
Knowledge is another thing.

I've made a fortune on Golf and Horse Racing, it does not mean I enjoy them more than my listed favs.
