When I got my new laptop, they said I was eligible for a free upgrade to Windows7. My best mate advised me against. I'm glad I took his advice:P

I suspect it'll be kickass soon enough. But I had a nightmare with XP when i first got that (when it was very new) and I had a nightmare with Vista when I first got that (before the patches and upgrades settled it down over a few months). I'll wait for windows 7 to find its feet.

Yeah, XP works fine, plus I've made so many little tweaks over the years, it's real comfy. Since I'm not even eligible to take the test, I'd rather just be using it, than playing with it. Mostly because it's more work than play, for me.

A friends Dell PC got virus constipated, and it took me weeks to straighten it out. Of course I only could work on it one day a week, and it was a steep learning curve, but it was fucking work, not fun.

I have Windows Vista (Basic). I dislike it, but not enough to try to mess with it much. Frankly, I still long for DOS.

Thanks, Pie!! This looks like it just might do the trick. I'm not too wild about doing things to my brand new registry, but, I guess that's what warranties are for, right? Gonna look at this more, but, so far, I like it! Thanks again.
