A gargoyle is a water spout. If it doesn't have a little gravity chute for water then it's a grotesque, not a gargoyle.

Sends a shiver as it would herald another awesome episode.

The graphics changed with succeeding series

I also totally associate the universal opening sequence with the show now and experience a moment of confusion and disappointment when BSG doesn't follow it.

You missed the whole point. The show was loosely based on the symbolism, not the statue itself. The idea is that these mythological creatures warded off evil.

Honestly John, I wasn't aiming at the whole point, or any point at all in fact, I was only exercising my pedantry gland as I'm prone to do from time to time. I did say so right at the start. Sorry.

I'll favor the first two Trek openings, but the opening for "Enterprise" was so bad it helped kill the franchise on TV.

I know the real-world aspects of gargoyles as well as well as the mythological aspects of gargoyles tho. Why? Cuz I not only look things up, but I asked a practical expert on all things mythological...who just happens to be my mom.

Yep. I've been nibbling at Enterprise on Netflix (and taking some heat for it) but have to ff through the intro. Terrible terrible stuff after the others in the franchise had been so good.

Didn't find a real Rockford Files intro. That and Hawaii 50 were nice bitd.

"Enterprise" the series got better and started to show promise. They should have changed the intro music and given it another year. TNG had a huge quality improvement in its third season.
