A lot of people make the mistake of underestimating the French.

They've got big bombs, the Foreign Legion and enough arrogance to use both.

Only if we are foolish enough to try to speak French when we are in France.

You're kidding, right?

Nobody is going to get hurt underestimating the French.

We crack on the French a lot here but if you look at their politics they're probably the least accomodating to their muslim population of anybody in the EU. Thats a position the American right should appreciate. Not that its working out any better for them than for the more multicultural states. The Europeans are caught in a grinder between paying for the welfare benefits of an ageing white population and bringing in young workers who will alter their society fundementally. I say thank God for the Mexicans.

Wasn't it the french that were changing their laws to accomodate the Muslims?

Maybe its fuzzy thinking on my part but before caving the French were banning headscarves on school girls, trying to force assimilation...?

I'm not right-wing but I still hate the French.

And I think you're right, Griff. They were banning head scarves, etc. Big to-do over it. I'm going to Europe next summer but I'm NOT going to France. If I want to be insulted and have people feel superior to me I can just go across town and see my mom and dad.

I was in France last summer... I don't like France because I think it's overrated. However, the French people were all very nice to me and I had a nice time, despite being in France. If you act like a jackass, they won't like you. They didn't like a lot of the people I went to France with for that reason.
