LJ good for you! I've been told that the grass may be greener, just not any better.
As Erma Bombeck said, the geass is always greener over the septic tank.

The company for which I work has a tracking system. They can track every keystroke, everything you print and company emails are monitored as well.
IMO, they should take over homeland security. We hear of idiots getting fired all the time for questionable emails...surfing porn.... you name it.

When you are outside (on your own time) you are American. When you are at work you are not.

In our company "Code of Conduct" there is even a statement about calling a woman "Girl" is an offensive remark and you can be fired for it. To bad for all the Ghetto biatch's.

Also if one takes offense to anything....even though no offense was intended....it falls under "it is a matter of perception".

Keeping the latter in mind, I keep clear of a hormonal pill popping nut job who is paranoid about my existence.

Ahhhh, I love my job!

The place where I work also has that sort of site filtering mechanism in place. It is a pain in the behind. Not sure of ways to get around it.

Same here, and everyone that works there is well aware of it. BUT, they still fire an average of 4 people every month for misuse of the computers.

I hack into my works dsl line with my laptop,.... but I still keep my surfing to a minimum... If I use the companys puters, I don't surf at all. (they have minor net nanny type software)

@ LJ, if thats the best decision for you, so far... best of luck. Your work hours seem tooooo long, but maybe something can change, and you'll get more "home" time.

I could hook up an extension to my own dsl/home line at work , but i do not need the temptation there to post. I would end up working free overtime to make up for time online.

@Tiddybaby, sounds like that The Cellar or whatever newsgroup provider you use was not blocked by your company's siteblocker, so that's a good thing. Just be careful though!

If the Republicans wrote the exceptions to the rule, you can bet that you're going to need to pony up a bunch of cash in order to have it apply to you.
