In many jurisdictions, employers are required to have SS and other tax information for employees. Phony numbers are necessary to get a job and pay withholding tax. The illegal immigrant never gets that withholding back.
We even had the scandal of undocumented nanny's. Employers who don't withhold money from their employees can be prosecuted which is why government makes so much more money on illegal immigrant workers. |

This is a fairly long thread, so maybe someone has already said this, but to be certain, the simple, most direct solution to the illegal immigration problem is to improve conditions in the illegal immigrants' native country. In other words, remove the reason for immigrating to begin with. If this requires aid and/or dropping the hammer on a few foreign government officials, so be it.

United States so massively subsidizes agriculture as to make it impossible for people in other nations to create jobs in industries such as citrus, sugar, wheat, maize (corn), cotton, soybeans, etc The list of jobs better performed in those other nations is long. And those people cannot succeed because America perverted free trade prices with massive government welfare. For example, prices of Oranges are up 50% due to bad orange crops in CA and FL. Brazil has more than enough to fill this need. America's massive tariffs keep Brazilian oranges out even with a 50% price increase on domestic crops. American ethanol is a joke. It consumes more energy than is created. But Brazil has pioneered superior solutions long ago that can provide useful ethanol. So America puts a $0.54 per gallon surcharge on Brazilian ethanol. We are free traders? Sugar is best grown in places such as Africa. 50% of American sugar is paid for by US government subsidizes. Yes, half the sugar in a container is paid for by the the US government. Therefore Africans cannot start sugar businesses. And so it goes The Doha round of WTO will be a first trade conference ever to fail. World is quite blunt about whose government welfare makes it impossible for other countries to compete in agriculture products best suited in their nations. So their people must go where the jobs are - in America. That's 1.8 million just for agriculture. WTO was put into stasis in a hope that the Doha round could be restarted after George Jr is gone. World has no illusions who is the anti-free trader here. By putting talks into stasis, it was hoped the accomplishments of those discussions could be saved and implemented. Meanwhile, jobs created by socialism in America mean we need far more immigrants that permitts by draconian laws. Last edited by tw; 03-31-2007 at 10:15 PM. |

If I have a large house that I worked for and my neighbors decide that they want to move into my guest room it is my right to kick their asses out and lock the door... it is that simple.

You also have to remember that we not only kicked the orginal owners out of the house but also used them as target practice.
