Sycamore the Commuter: Pimpin Suits

Upon mentioning my desire for a fur coat a few months back, juju remarked: "Your fashion sense has actually incited fear in me."

Hang on juju...it's about to get even more ridiculous.

Every morning while walking to work, I pass by a store called The Suit Corner, located at 3rd and Market. It's basically a discount mens apparel store, where no suit is over $98. Now, I've never been IN the store, nor do I think they would have anything in my size, but they have several outfits set up in a display window. Two suits in particular have caught my eye:

--The first is a pink silk suit (pants, jacket, tie, and vest, I believe) along with a black silk shirt. And it's not just any silk...it's the shiny kind. $98.

--The second is a pastel blue silk suit, similar to the one mentioned above, except with a white shirt. $98...or 2 suits for $190.

I want to buy both of them. And I want a matching fedora or derby to go with them. Then, I can go to the shoe shop down the street and get a matching pair of alligator skin shoes. I don't know if they have pink ones, but they definitely have the pastel blue ones.

I could see it now...strolling down Market Street in one of these get ups...looking like the pimp extraordinaire. And if I had that fur coat, I would be THE MAN! The mad chick killer of Old City Philadelphia! Ladies swooning at the sight of me!

I'm gonna try to get photos of those suits tomorrow, as proof of their awesomeness.

DISCLAIMER: Sycamore does not really want these suits. He thinks they are the funniest looking suits he has ever seen, and would only buy them for shits and grins. Sycamore does not think he would be the man if he bought these suits. Rather, he'd be the laughingstock of the city of Philadelphia. However, he still wants the fur coat for the hell of it.

You definitely wouldn't be a "Terry" in one of those suits.

You're right Tony. I'd have to have a street name...already got it: T-money.

You know, that DOES sound like a pimp name, along with Lamar.

When you mentioned White Shadow, for some reason, it made me think of the movie Cleopatra Jones (a 70s blaxploitation film). It seems like every 5 minutes in that movie, the characters are like, "What's up cool cat?" "What's up foxy mama?" "What's up daddy-o?" And I could see myself doing that in these suits.

Hmmm...this might be a good weekend to do a Blaxploitation film festival.

You know you could save the 98 bucks and just put out a photoshop call to make Syc fit the Starsky and Hutch extra profile.

I don't think that touches this little gem from the One Sentance Story 3.

"He retired to the closest sofa, hanging his head over the edge, righting all that mas mrong. Just as he slipped into unconsiousness...."
