Internet Coupons
OK, I admit that I have been called cheap at times. Not specifically relating to my stinginess in gift-giving or charity, but in my use of coupons.
I think of Internet coupons as printable cash. If it's for something that I was going to do anyway, printing a coupon that can save me $10 off of dinner is like being able to print a $10 bill. I use MyClipper mostly, as well as HotCoupons as my two favorite free sites, although MyClipper wants an e-mail address (I have never linked any spam to them). HotCoupons are related to the free coupons you sometimes get in the mail. I also sign up for the on-line Entertainment web site when we buy the Entertainment coupon book, and I check the AAA web site for any coupons through them related to my auto club membership. It's harder to check for coupons related to credit cards, although I can sometimes find them. When I go to rent a car, I sometimes have to flip between my Entertainment card, AAA, and Hertz Gold rates to find which deal is the best.
