Once again the Cellar system is in my house. It was in my house from 1995-1998 or so. Since it's been on the web, it's been on a system in my office.

Over the last couple of months my business died. This has been a difficult time in a lot of ways. But the big benefit is that the T1 circuit at the office is now moved to my home, and along with it all the systems that I've used to host various websites and whatnot. I'm working out of my home, providing hosting and co-location and web services and web programming.

So the Cellar's web-serving system now sites by my side, in my den, along with a rack full of other equipment. All with noisy fans creating a lot of white noise, but other than that, it's a techie heaven of sorts.

Cellar!

Nice to be on a Cellar in a cellar (Would you, could you, in a house? Would you, could you, with a mouse?). In all seriousness, I'd kinda like to see the setup...probably looks like something out of the labs of Berkely during the early days of BSD.

The workstation is the really coming together. In front of me is the 21" Nokia monitor dedicated to a P3-750 Win ME, partly for the Windoze apps but mostly for games. To my right is a 19" monitor connected to a BlackBox ServSwitch, from which I can select any of three Linux systems, all of which can be running X+Gnome+Enlightenment, or two Win 98 systems, which are "legacy".

If it didn't take the end of a business to get to this point, I'd feel better about it. The odd thing is that due to the ever-aging nature of computers, none of the systems are worth all that much, but you rarely see so many of them put together this way.
