Anyway around this.....

Oh, its trivial but its pissing me off.

Old Navy wont allow my personal shopper/on shipper to purchase off them anymore.

I have nfc why they wont anymore. If I had an American credit card...no probs...coz I have an American address.

Any ideas how to get around this, pleaaase??

I love some of the old navy stuff, especially for the kids.

Try a different credit card preferably with a different billing address. Try a friend's card as a test.

I think there are ways around this - post again after testing.

Beestie - I cant use my Australian Credit card because it has an Aussie billing address....so old navy cracks the poos.

Usually, I would just have my onshipper service do a personal shopper order for me and they pay using their credit card.

Guess I will just have to buy off Amazon and ebay.

Thanks

When you say your personal shopper/on shipper, is this a friend or a professional service? There are plenty of professional services about -usually small businesses, not too pricy. If a friend, can they create another identity with Old Navy? Is there anyone else you could ask? Right now Google Checkout (designed to take on paypal) is offering free transactions until the end of the year. Could you have someone set up this system so you pay them?

To find the professionals. search for American Expats in Oz sites. That's where you'll find out how they get their stuff from home. Find some expat forums and ask.

Thanks Monster - its a professional service. I used to used shopthestates, but they are gone now, so have 2 that I use.

Apparently its something in GAP and ON's policy...I cant understand why.

I'll do some more research...never get in the way of a women on a mission to spend money!

this is our directory of similar services for Brits. Not a whole load of help to you, but these are the type of small business I suggest you look for -ON might not realize they are a "service" rather than an individual buyer, which is probably why they kiboshed the service -they want a cut.

My wife tells me that Gap stopped shipping overseas because too many people refused to pick the merchandise up from customs after learning how much the charge was. So Gap had to pay to ship it back and had to return the customer's money. That got old pretty fast.

Apparently, eBay and similar sites are the only conventional workaround.

Monnie? ugh. I think Beestie has probably hit the "why" nail on the head. Hence the need to find a small inconspicuous operation.
