It's almost 90 degrees with very high humidity. It hasn't rained here in forever (though it seems to have rained in all the neighboring towns) so yes, I would say this little burg in America is frying.

It never got this hot in Brooklyn.
This is like Africa hot.
Man it's hot. Africa hot. Tarzan couldn't take this kind of hot.

Hasn't rained in a month. Went to a catholic church festival yesterday evening to watch my ex husband play in a very popular local band. As soon as I pulled up to park, it's starts pelting rain. And it didn't stop. I was soaked, but had a good time. Drank lots of draft beer and saw some peeps I haven't seen in a long time.

Puh, that's Ohio for ya.

I woke up this morning and could hear the heat running. There was ice on the skylight. Right now (9:40 AM) it's 46 degrees.

The tropical storm is all but gone, skys are clearing but it is still windy with some significant gusts, expected high will be 86 today. May have to run to the beach and see what the ocean kicked up. Now things may resume the regularly scheduled frying.

TM - are there fires burning near you? I haven't kept up with the fire situation for a few months.

Yes, unfortunately. We have a 700 acre fire about 20 miles from our house. Small compared to the big ones. The larger fires, in the south by the Swamp, are large enough that smoke is visable and in the air at our place, 2.5 hours away, and in Atlanta, 4.5 hours from the fires. You can see them on Sat maps:

Hopefully the storm took care of most of them. Somehow, from what I know about these big forest fires, I doubt it.

By "the Swamp" I assume you mean Florida?

The larger fires will create their own weather systems, due to the heat and the winds and the amount of moisture that they put in the air.
