![]() My drastic apologies for putting a 117 KB image here. Normally the images are much much smaller. But I figured this one should be posted as I found it. This is screenshots from a "terrain editor" called Landscape Studio. It'll probably be used for the next generation of 3D games. Parts of this are impressive, other parts not so much. I'm guessing it's good that anything goes, but I wonder on what planet do you get green trees growing right next to streams in rocky, compressed soil with an orange sky. It seems to me that other kinds of vegetative matter would evolve there. But never mind, the important thing is that a game designer has the ability to do whatever they want and get a good frame rate out of it. Never mind that your pilot is too large to fit into the jet fighter. Rippling water with correct shadows is much more impressive. Another screen shot, which was 180K in size so I haven't posted it, shows how you "build" some of the items in that environment. It's all very cool. |

THis shots look very similar to the game Black & white which feautre full 3d worlds, people, buildings etc, beautiful game, but i only get 85fps on an Athlon 1.2 with 256 PC-133 ram and GForce2GTS 64Mb
