Trigger Points Can Cause Penis Pain!

at least that what this site claims: http://www.triggerpointbook.com/

Seriously, do you know about this? It's called Trigger Point Therapy, and the basic idea is "referred pain"; "it's a mistake to assume that the problem is at the place that hurts." You massage trigger points to relieve pain elsewhere in the body--I guess like reflexology.

Health care providers have been using it, but Amazon said this book became an instant classic because it explains how to do self-massage. There's also a bunch of implements you can buy to do this on yourself: http://www.tptherapy.com/ (I've got my eye on the juicily named quadballer myself).

ETA: okay, so trigger points are muscle knots, which is why this is different from accupressure (cause accupressure manipulates the flow of energy, and the trigger points are physical). AND . . . it was invented, more or less by the first female personal physician to a president, JFK--Dr. Janet Travell. I think that's kinda interesting.

I know nothing about the subject. But...I did notice a few times during one flare up of eczema that when I scratched a particular spot on the sole of my foot I got a stabbing pain in the back of my head. Each time. Very strange. Haven't been able to replicate it since, but during that few days...

sorry, I tend to get a little over-excited when I learn about something new!

Don't be sorry. I find it fascinating. It struck me when I discovered a pressure point by accident, hence it stayed with me to tell here :P

Referred pain from cancer is a common symptom on House, MD. Apparently when it is the result of cancer in a different part of the body, the pain is called perineal plastic syndrome.
