Gut Yuntif, Gut Yohr

Good Holiday and Good Year to everyone this Yom Kippur. I'm signing off now to start my holiday, but I sincerely hope that we can all forgive ourselves and each other this season.

As we say at this time of year "May your name be inscribed in the Book of Life'.

Thanks. Due to medical issues I did have to have a bowl of soup.

We broke the fast at my cousin's house. It was nice seeing the family. We had the a traditional cold fish meal (lox, sable, whitefish salad) with some hot kugle to break the monotony.

There are a lot of reasons for eating cold fish after the fast. Since cooking is forbidden, it's easy to prepare ahead of time. It's also a 'light' meal suitable for coming off of a total 24 hour fast.

Still, I have vowed that I will serve hamburgers, or at least grilled salmon, if I ever host one of these.

Still, it was a quiet day. I did have to log in to work from home for a bit after sundown.
