See...Nic is infamous for this...posting a link, a pic, or a short blurb, and jumping back into the forest.

In fact, for a long time, I suspected that Nic was not just one person, but rather a collective of folks randomly throwing out various pics and links here and there. We know so little about him...even the name itself evokes mystery. Fortunately, Nic has been more revealing lately, primarily through his post in one of the Palestinian threads.

(It's all in good fun Nic. No harm meant. )

I like to stimulate discussion with a spark of an idea, or an open-ended reference ... a dig ... a prod.

I sometimes get involved later and take issue if something is written that strikes a nerve and evokes a response. I am really passionate about my opinions, too, but I don't think it's up to me to argue a point to death, not online anyway, although I have done so here on occasion.

I've been in a few scraps, but I still like people here. Even the 21 year olds who think they're fuckin' Yoda.

It's all good. I wouldn't still be here if I didn't enjoy the Cellar.

I think I get out of the Cellar in proportion to what I contribute and it feels good to me.

As much as anything, I like to contribute "food for thought" rather than my own thoughts ... but that could change.

'sallgood. Just a couple questions.

In the past, you've said that personal digs were inappropriate. Why start now?

Do you generally go around taking jabs at people when you like them?

Do you think that taking personal jabs at people helps avoid conflict?

Do you think that it helps cultivate a warm and friendly atmosphere in the Cellar?

Why aim such a comment at me? What was its intended purpose and what brought it about?

Your stated goal is to provide food for thought - how do you feel your comment accomplishes that goal?

How is the personal dig relevant to the conversation at hand?

You once asked me to remove a post you thought was tasteless, and I complied. Is your comment going to be removed from your post? If not, why?

Anticipating your answers.

On first reading, I saw "having sex with Yoda," and couldn't figure out why that would be a good thing.
