Global Rich List - So you think you've got it tough?

http://globalrichlist.com/

Input your income and be ranked against the other 6.7 billion people on this mudball. Sure 50 millionth doesn't sound great, until you realize that you're in the top %1.

An even six figures US ($100,000) ranks 39,615,049 or %0.66

I was at the very top of the chart too, and then I was like, "wait a second." I support 3 other people who have zero income. So I divided my annual income by 4 and plugged that in. Now I'm in the top 13%.

Interesting, but it does sound more like a marketing scheme to get people to donate to some organization. Guilt is not really a great motivator when it comes to charity.

As a test, I put in various amounts from $201,000 to $200,000,000 and they all were in the position 107,565. I think their calculations are suspect.

EDIT: I just looked at their methodology - it's based on assumptions about assumptions about very old data.
