Flag it, it's illegal on Craigslist.

Pilau cost more than that. I think we paid around £450 for him. That was 12 years ago, so don;t know what the exchange rate was but I'm guessing it would have worked out around $750. In the late 80s we paid £275/c$450 for a westie pup.

Did he come with pedigree papers? And did you know/research the breeder? Or was he from a newspaper ad?

The ad is gone. Apparently, you can sell pets for a "rehoming" fee.

Ahh. I see. Yes, and yes.

Gotta say though, I have seen many ads in papers and shop windows for pups that are, say a cross between two recognised breeds and are being sold for between £50 and £250. I don't know, maybe the market's different here.

I know there are quite a few things that are very expensive here compared to the States. Clothes I believe are more expensive here generally. Fast food certainly is.

[eta] Not googled it, but am guessing a Havapoo is a cross between a Havanese and a poodle. I'd imagine that is quite a pretty dog. Given that Havanese are usually quite a pricey breed that might explain why that cross is so costly.

[eate] sorry. hadn't read the thread closely enough, didn't see Havanese mentioned.
