Celebrity Death Pool 2012

Time to start lining up your lists.......

Sundae has lots of vacancies on hers, Wolf has found a new vocation -celebs pay to be on her list......

Anyone kicked off my list is guaranteed to die -I take responsibility for Seve Ballesteros, Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse.....

List 10 celebs who will die in 2012 -must be important enough that their deaths are reported by the national news sources in your country. Score 111-their age at death points for each hit, amputations will be prorated.

I'm starting with:

1. Maggie Thatcher
2. Zsa Zsa Gabor

rest to follow.....

oh and, if any you list now die before 2012 starts, or you just change your mind, you can replace them. After new year, once you name your 10, you're set.

I'm revising my strategy this year based on info I gleaned from actuarial tables. As you live longer your life expectancy increases. A 64 y.o. person has a shorter life expectancy than a 75 year old person. A newborn has a shorter life expectancy than a 70 year old.

Last year my strategy was to pack the list with 90 year olds in otherwise good health. This year I am aiming lower in age and going for people with dodgy constitutions.

You can expect Zsa Zsa again and Ali, of course. I need to think a bit before my list is official.

Yes, and no.

A 65 year old is expected to live 17 more years. A 75 year old is expected to live 10 more years.

So if you pick a 75 year old, they are more likely to die in the next year than a 65 year old, but they are also more likely to be an older age when they die, because they already are an older age.

Ft3, your strategy is in the wrong thread... it should be over here...

Right, I was thinking that a 65 y.o. in poor health is a better contender than an 85 y.o. who is swimming a few miles a day.

Note how many 90 y.o. on my list are still going strong, whereas...
