Neil Lazar RIP

Lil' Pete's first fencing coach, Maestro Neil Lazar, died this morning. He worked for Giorgio Santelli back in the day and helped coach Uriah Jones to a national championship. He was inducted into the USFA Hall of Fame in 2001. peace sir

I was trying to come up with something clever to say involving fencing jargon, gave up. Just going to say, I'm sorry.

Thanks, I'm feel sad for the loss, but his life was so well-lived that I can't help but have this little piece of joy for having known him.

Thank you Shel. There are so many intellectual, physical, and even philosophical levels to fencing that it is possible to remain fully engaged in it for a lifetime as a competitor or a teacher. I think that may be why Neil was so sharp for so long.
