Trying to figure out the movie Prometheus.

Finally went to see it at an 11 AM matinee which was almost like a private screening with only 3 other people in the theater. I'm tempted to go back again this week and have another viewing just to get it all figured out.

Anyway don't read this if you haven't seen it yet.

So, was the scene at the very beginning supposed to be on earth back in the beginning? And if our DNA and the Engineers are the same why did he have to destroy himself to create us?

Why did David poison Holloway? Holloway was pretty mean towards David from the start but did David know that that drop of goo would kill him or was he just experimenting to see if it could be a way for Weylend to live on.

Why does the crew go down to see first hand their other crew member they left for dead who is no sitting spider like outside the big door?

A biologist that runs away from a long dead, non threatening alien engineer body but is happy as hell to try and tickle an aggressive snake-like alien (Has he never heard of cobras?) And a geologist who maps the entire ship then gets lost?

How come nobody seems to care about Shaw running around all covered in blood and with staples across her stomach when she was supposed to be put to sleep and no one seems to wonder where the other 2 crew members are who were supposed to be getting her to the cryo-stacis area and off to beddy bys?

Charlize Theron is Weyland's daughter. Why is this important? The way it was shown made it appear to be something incredibly important to the plot (like Darth Vader revealing he's Luke's father) but instead it eventuated into nothing.

The geologist and the biologist find a bunch of petrified dead engineers who were running from something. What as it that killed them? And what about those worms inside that vault?

In Prometheus they land on a moon named LV-222, and in Alien they land on a planet named LV-426. Are these near each other and how come everything is so similar?
