Thief River Falls, Minnesota

This is where I am living at the moment. It's not someplace that most people would enjoy living for a variety of reasons but is becoming more tolerable as the extreme cold weather seems to have passed.

You might find this town and area interesting if you are interested in the following activities:

* Riding Snowmobiles

* Hockey

* Attending Church Services

* Being Isolated

* Driving on Ice

* Letting Your Car Run 24/7

* Watching Trains Cross from Your Car ( as you sit and wait on the way to and from work )

* Driving 60+ Miles to Find a Real Store

The entire town here has paths for snowmobiles that runs along the roads. They even have their own smaller version of road signs. The locals also tell me that you can get a ticket for speeding and that the cops here comb the trails with radar.

Snowmobiles are all over the roads in winter here, many people even drive them to work. You see them at the gas stations, parked outside shops, everywhere.

This is the snomobile crossing area at Arctic Cat. There are about 10 people that sled to work from the front offices but many more than that from assembly regularly ride them.

This second pic is right down the street from here. It's a huge gas tank for filling sleds and snow removal equipment. It wouldnt seem so strange to see it here but this is "in town".

There really isnt a whole lot here that I find appealing in the winter. Maybe the summers are very enjoyable here, but by that time I'll be long gone.
