Life and Death Situation today

My son talked his friend off railroad tracks as the train approached. Holy Shit.

The friend is bi-polar and was subjected to seriously bullying at school that day. As the kids waited for the train from school to home, this kid sits down on the tracks declaring "it's over".

My son has Asperger Syndom and seriously defiicient in social skills. So, I am happy he could pull this off. He's going to be this kid's "train buddy" from now until the end of school. This commitment helps my son as well as the other kid.

The school was really great in responding to this incident. I can't explain everything in a short space. But, it was an amazing human experience.

Whew.

*cheers*

The fact that your Aspie was successful in helping this troubled young person is incredible!!

I shudder to think what would have happened if he wasn't successful, or in the right place at the right time.

Take your son out for something special, like a dinner or movie or something.

Good on your son. Most adults can't manage what he did.

Have you advised friend's parents of this event?

Thanks all. Yes, the kid fessed up when he got home. the family had a special session with the therapist that evening and the next day meetings at school. today, at least, we're driving them home.
