March 6, 2007: Biggest burger record returns to Denny's
IotD first covered Denny's Beer Barrel Pub's 9 pound burger, who held the record at I think 50 lbs. IotD covered the Bob's BBQ in Thailand, and their 100 pounder which broke that record. IotD covered Clinton Station Diner in New Jersey and their 105-pound record-breaker. IotD now celebrates the original Denny's who now take the record back with this 123-pounder. Congrats Denny! (Here's Denny's website.) Want some details? One local story says Quote:
And one note tells you Denny is preparing for any uppity competition: Quote:

baked in an oven?!
not a burger. it's meatloaf on a bun. burgers should be grilled or fried. preferably grilled.

I think there should be some kind of catch that the record doesn't stand unless all the participants eat ALL of it...

Where, oh, where is our Moral Authority, sproglet? Sproglet would be outraged at this! And go on and on about the waste, people, the WASTE that you create with novelty food! That burger could have fed...Look if sprog doesn't show up, I'll get my whip out and start condemning everybody--deal?

I'd have to take the tomatoes off. Raw tomatoes - bleurgh. Also not entirely happy with the mixture of condiments - ketchup AND mustard AND mayo AND relish...?
But apart from that it looks reasonable. Nicer than the NJ one anyway - that looked like food poisoning in a bun. If this burger was in our kitchen right now I'd be helping myself. Can't say fairer than that

That's no 30 pound bun. I want the bun-weigher questioned.

The perfect job! Bun-weigher!
I could go 'round and say to various harried and unappreciated and nearly-psychotic-from-the-lack-of-respect fast food workers, "I'm terribly sorry, but I 've got to weigh this bun before you serve it---part of the Federal Insistance on Equity in Bun Weight program. After all, it IS your tax money at work here."
