I wonder about their thinking though. Golf has a big audience but also has bigger stages than the Olympics. It seems like they'll be hosting a minor golf tourney rather than being the biggest stage for something else.

Being practical, what better to attract major donors/backers into sponsoring the Olympics than promising to build a world class golf course?

I always say that any activity that depends on judges (not referees) is not a sport. But the common understanding now is that any activity that shows fit women's asses in detail is the most important olympic sport.
