TV

I do not subscribe to the "Kill Your TV" way of life. I think TV can be very entertaining and informative. I'm a news and world events junkie, and a popular culture avatar, so I do watch TV. That said, I save my serious "watching" for CSPAN (especially BookTV), The News Hour after work, the Daily Show and Colbert Report, PBS fare if it's of interest to me. I read the NYT daily. It's the latter publication that had a big article on Ms. Couric, so I read it (probably a mistake). NPR had a piece about her, and just the "noise" of our media-saturated world has been infused with references to her and her "role" as female anchor.

I congratulate Flint on not knowing ANYTHING about Couric. That he didn't shows either commitment, isolation, savvy discretion, or a little of each. One does not have to watch TV to have heard of the Courics of the world, however.
