55% alcohol is 110 proof. It can't be a beer. you can only achieve those levels of alcohol by distilling.
5.5% alcohol, yes.

I'd pay more for a stoat as we have plenty of gray squirrels around here, not to mention an occasional squirell.

“The End of History” began life as a blond Belgian ale and was subsequently freeze distilled many times, infused with nettles from the Scottish Highlands and Fresh juniper berries and ... then put in a bottle created by a taxidermist. To understand just where the Gray Squirrels and Mr Stoat fit into the picture (we’re still trying to figure it out),

I was gonna comment on that before you edited-to-add, but then I had to go to class - but yeah, I think I'd call freeze-distilled beer close enough to beer to let 'em. Like, if you really wanna call applejack an ~80-proof cider... well, all they did was take water out via ice, I'll let it slide even if you're kinda bending the definition a bit.
Plus, is there a different word for beer that's been frozen to increase its alcohol content, other than beer, like applejack is to cider?

Y'know with a quarter keg and a creative mortician, you can be the bar at your own wake.
